
Calling all Schluter Families!
We want to share some exciting volunteer opportunities with you for 2022-23.
In order to run successful programs and events for our school community, we need YOU! If you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions click the button below to fill out the volunteer form. All positions can be shared and many will be comprised of a chair and a committee! So grab a friend or two and join us! Because TOGETHER WE SHINE!
Note: Some programs may have restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, but we will work with you to help overcome any obstacles, or sign you up for the next year. Programs with restrictions are marked with an *.
Committee Chair Opportunities
Classroom Volunteer
Assign each class a room parent. Work with all room parents to ensure that class parties are planned for each class. Give teacher favorites list to parents, Decorate doors for holidays Red Ribbon Week, Winter Holidays, Valentine’s Day, Teacher Appreciation week. Organize duty free lunch/recess 2 times per year.

Book Fair Coordinator
Work with Librarian to staff book fair sales with volunteers, coordinate family events during book fair week such as Pastries with My Peeps.
Fundraising Committee
This committee shall be responsible for raising funds necessary to fund programs, contribute to maintenance and structural improvements at the school. This committee will also work closely with the VP of Fundraising to help with Boosterthon.

Boosterthon is in March.
Restaurant Spirit Nights
Plan, schedule, and promote 6 Spirit Nights per year at local restaurants.

Ongoing commitment throughout the year.
Volunteer Coordinator
Maintain list of volunteers for school, identify ways to recruit more volunteers, develop volunteer incentives, post to VIP page and create online signups, send notices home, work with High School and Middle School to schedule student volunteers for events.

Teacher Appreciation
Plan 1 teacher appreciation event per month. Bathroom goodies, Sonic Drinks, Stock the fridge, back to school lunch, 7 Days of Christmas, Teacher appreciation week, STAAR testing weeks etc. Plan and promote daily events for Teacher Appreciation week in May.

Holiday Store
Organizes holiday store for students. Plans, decorates, maintains inventory, sets up, arranges volunteers for week long event

Reflections
Promote Reflections contest at school, send home paperwork regarding submissions, be sure that submissions follow rules and turn in to district level.
Commitment level:
September-October
*BooHoo WooHoo Breakfast
Plan, promote and execute first day of school event for parents. Serve light breakfast and pass out PTA membership forms.
Commitment Level:
One time commitment on first day of school.
*Popcorn Fridays
Popsicle Parties
Plan, promote and serve popsicles and popcorn for each grade level throughout the year. Order supplies, get volunteers etc.
Valentine Grams
Order supplies, organize, plan, promote and put together Valentine grams.
Commitment level:
Heavy commitment in February.
Birthday Grams
Order supplies, promote, plan and execute sale of Birthday grams. Large committee preferred to share the work.
Commitment level:
Need to be available daily to keep up with demand.
*Spring/Fall Festival
Organize, gather donations, plan, promote and execute Fall or Spring Festival (Schluter Family Fun Day).
Commitment level:
Need large committee of 8-10 people to run this successfully.
Spiritwear
Spiritwear
Coordinate the selection design, ordering, inventory, and sale of t-shirts and school related items, distribute shirts when orders are received.
Commitment level:
Beginning of school commitment.
Spirit Sticks/Smencils:
Order Spirit sticks and smencils and sell on Friday mornings.
Commitment level:
Based on volunteer availability.
Yearbook
Coordinates layout, design, sales and distribution of Yearbook. Also gathers photos from each school event.
Commitment level:
Ongoing throughout the year – ordering in Spring.
*Veteran’s Day Program
Work with Music teachers to coordinate program to honor veterans. Possible host a reception before or after event.
Commitment level:
November 11 is Veteran’s Day.
